Gold open faced lever pocket watch

A French 18 carat gold open faced keyless pocket watch with quarter repeater mechanism, gold chain and presentation case made by Leroy & Fils, circa late 19th century. The watch features a guilloché back monogrammed GA, topped by a crown. It has a sliding case middle for striking, and a signed and numbered gold cuvette. The white enamel dial displays Roman numerals for the hours, a minute track, Arabic five minute markers, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gold spade hands. A mechanical movement with crown winding, spiral balance, lever escapement and quarter repeater strike with two hammers on a gong. It comes with a case from B. Poitevin & V. Le Jeune, punched RL.
