A unique gold, enamel and diamond set Neo Renaissance Lépine pocket watch with an agate cameo made in France, circa 1870. The numbered open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 carat gold and is richly decorated on both sides. The bezels are black enamelled and set with rose cut diamonds, there is an extremely rare agate cameo on the back showing a pharaoh’s bust including head and neck jewellery as well as gold rose cut diamond set earrings. The screwed white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, Arabic five minute numerals and steel hands. The movement has a cylinder escapement and key winding.
