Noel (Noël) Decovigny worked from around 1700 to 1740 as a master watchmaker in Paris. He was named master watchmaker to the king (Maitre horloger du Roi). A Louis XV cartel clock is also known as Decovigny. In May 2014, the Morteau Watch Museum exhibited watches in Hong Kong in collaboration with the French Chamber of Clock and Microtechnology (CFHM) and the French consulate in Hong Kong. The Musée de l’horlogerie de Morteau lends around forty pieces for the French Times in Paris exhibition. One was a Louis XV Cartel watch by the watchmaker Noel Decovigny.
