A French pearl-set gold and enamel watch, circa 1790. Unusually converted slim movement, the original pillar plate retained, engraved top plate, fusee and chain, engraved cock polished steel regulator, visible club foot lever escapement, compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Winding through the signed convex white enamel dial with slender black Roman numerals, pierced gold hands. Consular case, the bezels set with split pearls. Finely painted polychrome enamel back depicting a couple in a garden. Gold bow and rectangular pendant.
