Gold repeating pocket watch made in the style of Breguet
–
An exquisite, large French striking clock, repeating the hours and quarters, circa 1820. Engine turned 18K pink gold case, case punch, I.E., Dome signed Breguet. Enamel dial with secret signature (restored), Breguet-style radial hours, outer minutes track, and filigree Breguet steel hands. Exquisite cylinder movement in the manner of Breguet, repeating the hours and quarters, very fine quality with parachute and temperature compensation. Case and movement with matching numbers.

Diameter: 57 mm

Weight: 135 g

Signed: Breguet

Even though the watch is signed ‘Breguet’ and the dial bears the secret signature, the number shows that the watch does not come from the workshop of Abraham-Louis Breguet.
However, the quality is certainly comparable to Breguet’s work. The maker of this watch, based on Breguet’s work, is not known.
Signed: Breguet
