A French gentleman’s fine quarter repeating pocket watch and unusual jumping centre seconds “seconde morte”, circa 1815.
18 carat gold case with dedication engraving: “Souvenir d’amour Conjugal”, radial decoration and case maker punch mark “DF”. Signed enamel dial with Arabic numerals, jumping centre seconds and gold spade hands. Bridge movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, with 2 hammers, 2 gongs, going barrel, cylinder escapement and a three-arm brass balance.
