Exquisite open faced cylinder watch

A French exquisite quarter repeating gold enamel verge pocket watch, studded with half pearls, circa 1820. Quality Lepine movement with cylinder escapement and three-arm brass balance.
An 18 carat gold enamel case back with half pearls on both sides and ribbed band, the translucent blue of the enamel is enhanced by the engine turned radial pattern through the back, the spring loaded case back opens by pushing the button in the band at 10 o’clock.

Engine turned gold dial with Arabic numerals on white cartouches and blued steel Breguet hands. Quarter repeating is activated by pushing the pendant, 2 hammers / 2 gongs.
Lustrous split pearls lend a luxurious elegance to this watch. A marvelous timepiece in excellent condition.
