Vaucher, or Vauchez, was a French watchmaker who worked in Paris around 1800. He was likely a descendant of Daniel Vaucher, a master watchmaker born in Fleurier and moved to Paris in 1760. Although he lived in Paris, his wife and six children remained in Fleurier but later joined him in Paris. The children, including Jonas-Frédéric Vaucher, Jean-Henri-David Vaucher, François Vaucher, Jean-Jacques Vaucher, Samuel Vaucher, and Isabelle-Salomé Vaucher, also became watchmakers. The family created some wonderful watches typically signed with Vauchez en la Cité. It is possible that an r was mistakenly written as a z in the signature.
