Silver coach clock with hour self strike and alarm by Josias Jolly

An important, one of the earliest known, coach clocks, one handed with hour self strike and alarm, circa 1635.  Firegilt full plate movement, applied engraved florally pierced decorations, chain/fusee for going train, ratchet wheel set up with blued, fine decorated steel spring for train barrel, moulded conical movement pillars, 1 barrel for alarm, 1 florallay pierced barrel for hour strike, 2 hammers, silver regulator disc, silver locking disc, three armed steel balance, very finely florally engraved, pierced balance cock. Silver dial, florally engraved with radial Roman numerals, central turnable alarm disc and brass hand. Silver inner case, smooth, pierced and florally engraved, nearly three dimensional effective edges, bell, large 5 piece hinge. Outer case coated with ray skin, covered with decoration studs of a sovereign crown, silver bordered sound openings, large 5 piece hinge.
