A large and extremely rare quality 1A half hunting cased pocket watch with chronograph made by A. Lange & Söhne in Glashütte, Germany, circa 1890. The numbered case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold, is engine turned on both sides and has a vacant cartouche on the back. The white enamel dial features black Roman hours, an outer minute track, red Arabic five minute numerals, outermost fifth of a second divisions, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold double spade hands. The numbered movement is fitted with a precision lever escapement, gold lever, gold escape wheel, gold wheels and a diamond end stone.
The case and movement have matching numbers, and the case and dial are signed.
