A very fine Swiss, 20k gold quarter repeating on a bell and à tact, repoussé pair cased pocket watch, circa 1760. Cybele by Etienne Gevray, Geneva. Probably for the English market. The outer case is repoussé, depicting Cybele receiving grapes from a putto in an asymmetrical rococo cartouche pierced foliate outer border, bezel decorated to match. The inner case has a pierced and engraved band with a pattern, grotesque mask at the front. Gilt-brass dust cap.

White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, five-minute Arabic numerals. Gold Louis XV hands. A hinged, frosted gilt full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, pierced and engraved single-footed cock, silver regulation dial, repeating on bell activated by depressing the pendant. Movement and dust cap signed.
