Open faced watch for the south American market by A. Lange & Söhne

A very fine, almost as new Glashütte gentleman’s pocket watch, for the south American market and manufactured in quality 1A, circa 1900. Sold to Frederico Krüssmann, Rio de Janeiro, with original box and original certificate.
The 18 carat gold case has a monogram on the engine turned back side and a signed gold dome. The signed gilt dial has radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds and gold spade hands. And it has a frosted, gilt, signed 3/4 plate movement with screwed gold chatons, gold screw compensation balance, florally hand-engraved balance cock, index spring fine adjusting device, gold lever and escape wheel and chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
