A decorative silver quarter repeating pair cased Augsburg coach clock with alarm, circa 1740.
Later outer case is silver, applied shagreen, sound holes, large lateral hinge. Inner case is silver, repoussé decoration, battle scene showing German and French soldiers on horseback; open work rim, baroque style volute and rococo ornamentation, cartouches showing wildlife in four continents; rear bell, pusher for repetition via pendant, large lateral hinge. Enamel dial, radial Roman hours, central alarm hand, pierced gilt hands. Full plate movement, applied, engraved, florally pierced decorations, firegilt, signed, chain/fusee, Egyptian movement pillars, lavishly florally engraved barrel for alarm, 2 hammers, verge escapement, three arm steel balance, very finely florally engraved, pierced balance cock.
