A very fine German gold enamel verge pocket watch with pastoral scene, circa 1780.
The gold case has two-coloured gold bezels with lavish engravings of geometrical patterns, on the back side a polychrome enamel medallion depicting a pastoral scene against an engine turned and translucent sun-yellow ground, and it has a large outer hinge. The dial is enamel with radial Roman hours and Louis XVI hands. And the firegilt signed full plate movement is keywind, with chain/fusee, solid movement pillars, three-arm brass balance, fine florally engraved and pierced balance bridge.
