Gold hunting cased pocket watch
–
A representative Swiss gold enamel hunting cased pocket watch produced for the Ottoman market, circa 1850.
An 18k gold/polychrome enamel case, enamel dial, bridge movement, keywind, side lever escapement, screw compensation balance.
The front of this marvelously preserved hunter watch shows an exquisitely painted bouquet of delicate spring flowers against a pink coloured ground. The back of the watch also bears a fine octagonal medallion with excellent painting: a river landscape with a mosque on its bank. Both paintings are framed by floral Champlevé decor.
