Rose gold quarter repeating watch with two jaquemarts by Breguet

A rare and unusual French 18 carat rose gold open faced quarter repeating watch with two jaquemarts and an automaton scene, circa 1820. Gilt finished full plate movement, pierced and engraved balance cock, repeating on two hammers. Gilt cuvette. Dial with later painted Roman numerals on outer white enamel chapter ring, centred by an applied vari-coloured gold and enamel neoclassical interior and automaton scene depicting two putti to the upper part, striking the hours onto bells in unison with the repeating, a seated lady below spinning wool with her right arm while her foot is driving the wheel in unison with the repeating. Engine turned case, repeating through the pendant, pending locking lever in the ribbed band. Cuvette signed.
