A rare French gold and enamel verge watch, circa 1765. It features a gilt full plate verge movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge, fusee and chain, and baluster pillars. The white enamel dial has Roman numerals and an Arabic outer ring winding through the dial. The case back shows a polychrome enamel scene of a classical female in a landscape. The bezel is painted inside and outside with landscape scenes, and the inside case back depicts a church landscape. It has a diamond set thumb piece.
