A very rare French 18 carat gold quarter repeating pocket watch with cylinder escapement, circa 1820. Full plate and partially skeletonized movement with cylinder escapement and three-arm copper balance, keywind, frosted, gilt, with 2 hammers / 2 gongs, going barrel, push pendant to activate quarter striking. There is a slider in the band serves as a safety device to prevent the repeater from being activated accidentally.
18 Carat gold engine-turned case with reeded band and case maker’s punch mark FLP. Cuvette spring loaded, push button to open cuvette at 9 o’clock.
White enamel dial with Arabic numerals and outer minute track, blued Breguet hands.
