A rare silver, gold, enamel and paste set heart form quarter repeating watch with exposed balance, circa 1790. With reversed cylinder movement, full plate lightly engraved with foliate motif, quarter repeating on bell. White enamel dial, Arabic numerals and paste set exposed balance below 12 o’clock. The front of the case inscribed ‘Este Corazon Te Entrego en Prueba de Mi Amor’, translucent blue enamel on a engine turned ground with chased gold tendrils, the back enameled with Venus watching over a sleeping Cupid, surrounded by gold festoons, paste set borders. The enamel with restoration. The case inscription ‘Este Corazon Te Entrego en Prueba de Mi Amor’ translates to ‘I Give You My Heart as Proof of My Love’.
