A rare Swiss 18K yellow gold keyless dress pocket watch with Class A Observatory movement, circa 1940. A polished and brushed case, snap-on case back. Three-tone matte and brushed silver dial with black champlevé baton indexes and Arabic quarter-hour numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and blued steel epee hands.
An observatory, shaped, rhodium-plated movement, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance timed in eight positions, with Rolex patent cap, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed.
