A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold keyless pocket watch with six horological complications made by Jules Jacot-Houriet, Le Locle, circa 1895. A minute repeater with chronograph, carillon, triple date, days of the week, month of the year and moon phases. The cover and case back are polished. A white enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track with Arabic numerals at five intervals, and gold Louis XV hands. A gilt brass, full plate movement, going barrel, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance with gold poising screws and hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel index regulator; repeater work; chronograph work on the top plate.

Movement based on the Swiss invention patent No. 8 527, delivered on May 1st, 1894, to Jules Jacot-Houriet, Le Locle, for a Platine pour montres répétitions avec ou sans complications (Main plate for repeater watches with or without complications), thus making it possible to build a movement with minute repeater, five-minute repeater or quarter repeater. Movement based on the Swiss invention patent No. 10 508, delivered on July 17, 1895, to Jules Jacot-Houriet, Le Locle, for a Crémaillère à poussoir pour montres à répétition (Push piece rack for repeating watches). Movement based on the Swiss invention patent No. 17 032, delivered on September 20, 1898, to Jules Jacot-Houriet, Le Locle, for a Sonnerie à carillon pour montre à répétition (Carillon striking for repeating watches).

The six complications:

-Minute repeater with carillon on three steel gongs by three hammers (activated by the slide located on the case band at 6 o’clock)
-1/5 second chronograph (activated by the single olive-shaped push piece located on the case band at 12 o’clock)
-Half instantaneous date of the month (subsidiary dial at 12 o’clock)
-Day of the week (subsidiary dial at 9 o’clock; indications given in English)
-Month of the year (subsidiary dial at 3 o’clock; indications given in English)
-Phases of the moon (aperture at 6 o’clock)
