Gold, enamel cylinder pocket watch

A very fine Swiss, 18K gold, diamond-set and enamel fob watch. Accompanied by a short chain and ratchet key, circa 1840. Diamond Bouquet by J.L. Liodet, Place de l’Ecu de Genève, Genève. The back with translucent white enamel over a guilloché ground centred with a diamond set floral spray, outer gold scroll decoration, coin-edge band. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Gold Breguet hands. A gilt brass movement, bar calibre with going barrel, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Dial and movement signed.
