Gold pocket watch with blue and green enamel decorations by Longines
–
A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold pocket watch with blue and green enamel decorations, made for the Egyptian market, and delivered to Kramer, supplier to SA Le Khedive, Cairo, circa 1912. This watch features an ultrathin mechanical movement, Calibre 11.87, with a lever escapement, and is engraved with L. KRAMER & Co., suppliers to SA Le Khedive Le Caire, sole agents for Egypt. It has a signed gold dial, guilloché at the centre with Breguet style numerals, a small seconds hand at 6 o’clock, railway graduation, and Breguet style hands. The 18 carat gold case is round with a hinge, and the bezel and back are enamelled in green and blue, bearing prayers in the name of the Prophet Muhammad and his family, notably his daughter Fatima. It comes with an Extract from the Archives and a presentation case.
