Exquisite miniature watch with original key and box

An exquisite miniature lépine watch with jasper case, original key and box, made by Jean-François Bautte & CIE in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1845. The numbered open faced case of this watch which was crafted from 18 carat gold has a fine coin band and a back lid of jasper (bloodstone). The white enamel screwed dial has Roman hour numerals and gold Breguet hands and the fine bar movement has key winding, eight rubies and a cylinder escapement.
The watch is accompanied by its original gold key, which is also set with jasper, as well as its original box. The interior of the box is lined with blue silk and velvet, while the exterior is covered in leather and decorated with gold printing, including the initials S.B.W.
The cuvette is signed and numbered.
