Pocket watch with repeater and chronograph
–
An extremely rare top quality pocket watch with double complication, made by Patek, Philippe & Cie in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1888. The numbered open faced case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and has a numbered cuvette. The white enamel dial has an outer ring with gold Arabic five minute numerals, Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial with gold Arabic numerals and blued steel hands. The numbered movement features an absolute top class precision lever escapement, Geneva striping decoration and a very unusual double complication of a 5 minute repeater and a chronograph.
The dial and cuvette are signed.
