Markman’s watch with precision lever escapement

A rare rifleman’s watch (Schützenuhr) for the Federal Shooting Festival (Tir Federal) in Aarau, made by Ulysse Nardin in Locle & Genève, Switzerland, circa 1924. The numbered open faced case of this watch was crafted from 18 Carat gold, has a rifleman’s relief on the back and its dust cover is inscribed “Eidgenössisches Schützenfest, 1924, Aarau, Tir Fédéral”. The white enamel dial has black Arabic hour numerals 1-12, an outer minute track, outermost blue Arabic 24 hours, a subsidiary seconds dial with black Arabic numerals at six o’clock and blued steel hands. The numbered movement has a Ulysse Nardin precision lever escapement with fine adjustment.
