Gold hunting cased chronograph with minute repeater
–
A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold hunting cased (savonnette) pocket watch with complex complications, dating from the first quarter of the 20th century. This watch has a high grade mechanical movement with lever escapement and a bi metallic screw balance. The minute repeater is activated by a sliding targette mechanism in the band, and the chronograph functions with a single pusher. The white enamel dial features black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer railway minute track with Arabic five minute numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, blued steel cathedral hands, and a central chronograph seconds hand. The round 18 carat gold case has a spring loaded front cover, a fluted crown for pendant winding, and is smoothly polished.
