A very fine Swiss, keyless, minute repeating, 18K yellow gold pocket watch, circa 1915. Made for Spaulding & Co., Chicago. A solid, polished case, the back with applied monogram. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with fancy Arabic numerals, outer minute track, sunk subsidiary dial for the seconds. Blued steel hands. A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 29 jewels, straight-line counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial and movement signed for the retailer.
