Yellow gold watch by Patek Philippe

A fine yellow gold open faced minute repeating split second chronograph pocket watch, made in 1912. Mechanical lever movement, 39 jewels, bimetallic compensation balance, micrometer regulator, wolf’s tooth winding. Hour, quarter and minute repeating on two polished steel hammers onto two gongs. 18k Yellow gold, personally inscribed cuvette, enamel monogrammed hinged case back.
White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, decorative gold hands, outer railway minute divisions and subsidiary seconds. Case, dial and movement signed, case and movement numbered.

Inscribed: Albert Lincoln Smith, In grateful appreciation of your unselfish help and advice for many years, Harry W Child, Christmas, 1920.
This watch is monogrammed and inscribed for Albert Lincoln Smith, the President of the Montana Trust and Savings Bank through the 1920s. The bank and its Officers were involved with war relief efforts during World War I. In addition to raising funds, the bank supported the Red Cross and the Montana Loyalty League.
The watch was gifted to the original owner by Harry W. Child, a prominent Montanan entrepreneur and founder of the Yellowstone Park Company who offered services to visitors to the Yellowstone National Park from 1892- 1980. In his earlier years, Mr. Child had helped to establish the San Francisco Stock Exchange in 1882.
The watch is preserved in beautiful overall condition, with a vibrant varicolored enamel monogram to the hinged case back. The dial remains intact and dressed with Breguet numerals and Louis XV hands.
Associated and period correct Patek Philippe presentation box, Certificate of Origin, Extract from the Archives confirming the date of sale in 1920, spare crystal, mainspring and repeat spring.
