Gold open faced lever watch

A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch made by Patek Philippe in Geneva for the retailer G. Bornand in Marseille, France, late 19th century. This watch features a numbered hand wound mechanical pendant movement with a lever escapement, signed Patek Philippe. The white enamel dial displays black Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track with red Arabic five minute numerals, gilded Louis XV hands and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The case, signed by the watchmaker and retailer, features a hinged back and a signed, numbered gold cuvette. Accompanied by the original presentation box.
