Gold open faced keyless lever watch
–
A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch made by Patek Philippe & Co in Geneva, circa 1912. It has a mechanical crown winding movement with a straight line lever escapement, signed Patek Philippe & Cie. The white enamelled dial shows painted black Arabic numerals for the hours, a fine outer minute track with red Arabic five minute indicators from 5 to 60, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and elegant gold Louis XV style hands.
–
The timepiece is housed in a smooth round three body, 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case with a plain polished reverse back cover engraved with an intertwined AB monogram, a fluted winding crown, and a round suspension bow. The solid 18 carat gold inner protective cuvette is signed Patek Philippe & Co and numbered. The watch comes with a gold plated metal chain, its original fitted presentation box, the original warranty certificate dated August 20, 1912, a 1957 factory warranty bulletin, and an original replacement crystal glass bearing the matching watch number.
