A very interesting and very fine Swiss pocket watch chronometer with chain/fusee and very rare winding mechanism, circa 1860.
Engine turned 18 carat gold, “à goutte”, case with reeded mid section, dome inscribed “CHRONOMETRE” and maker’s punch A.C.. Extravagant chronometer movement with very rare winding mechanism, chain/fusee, pivoted detent escapement, solid gold escape wheel, screwed gold chatons and helical hairspring. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, sunk subsidiary dial for the seconds and blued steel hands.
