Pocket watch with rare case decoration
–
An extremely thin numbered lépine with very thin lépine caliber and rare case decoration, in completely original condition with original box and original key, made by Henggeller Roy & Ce in la Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, circa 1850. The open faced case is crafted from 18 Carat gold, is very beautifully engraved with an extreme depth effect on the back and the back lid has a gift dedication: “König Otto, dem K.K Postverwalter Karl Bauer Carlsbad, 10th of August 1856” (From King Otto, to the Royal Postmaster Karl Bauer). The floral silver dial has an outer ring with Roman numerals for the hours and fine Breguet hands. The movement has an extremely rare caliber, similar to the Bagnolet caliber but with hinged cuvette which has an enamelled signature, negative winding shafts like the Bagnolet caliber, eight rubies and a cylinder escapement. The watch comes in the original box with the original key.
Cuvette signed.
