Swiss gold and enamel beetle form brooch watch Circa 1895

Beetle-shaped cylinder watch

A Swiss 18 Carat yellow gold, enamel, diamond and ruby set keyless cylinder pocket watch concealed in beetle form case with a matching brooch, circa 1890-1900.
A beetle shaped diamond- and ruby set case, two wings decorated with engine turned translucent red enamel hinged to reveal the dial beneath, cabochon ruby set eyes, the head and wings set with rose cut diamonds, the underside with realistically carved legs. White enamel dial with black Breguet numerals, a red 12 and outer minute track. Gilded brass movement with going barrel, a cylinder escapement, monometallic balance, blued steel flat hairspring and raquette for the regulation. Wings and movement numbered.
Accompanied by the original fitted presentation box and a matching 18 Carat yellow gold, enamel and diamond set brooch.
