Gold open faced cylinder watch

A Swiss fine 18K gold and painted on enamel slim open faced pocket watch, made for the Spanish market, circa 1840. Gilt finished cylinder movement. Gold cuvette. Gilt Lépine calibre, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator.
Cast and chased case with shells, flowers and scrolls, the back cover with a finely painted on enamel scene of a mountainous harbour-side view with a ship in full sail visible through a ruined arch in the foreground. Hinged foliate engraved cuvette with enamelled technical details.
Silver dial, engine-turned, painted radial Roman numerals and outer minute indexes. Gold moon hands.
