A Swiss gold and pearl set quarter repeating verge watch with polychrome enamel painted scene, circa 1795. The movement features a verge escapement, a plain balance, and a beautifully pierced and engraved balance bridge. The backplate is signed A. Moilliet Cie., Genève and bears the number 1179. The white enamel dial showcases Arabic numerals and an outer Arabic minute ring with gold hands. It is signed Ante. Moilliet & Cie., à Genève. The gold case has a back adorned with a polychrome enamel painting of a pastoral scene depicting a shepherd and shepherdess picking fruit. In the foreground is a sheep, a dog, and a cow against a backdrop of Swiss mountains. The case features an opaque white enamel border with gold quatrefoils and a pearl set bezel and is numbered 1179. It also includes the casemaker’s mark BP beneath a crowned symbol.

The movement is not functioning and does not repeat. There is a bell scratch signed Buegue??. The dial is in good condition. The case is in overall good condition, with some wear to the thin white enamel band beneath the pearl set bezel. The glass is loose.
