Gold watch with six horological complications

A large Swiss, 14 carat pink gold hunting cased keyless pocket watch with six horological complications made by Charles Barbezat-Baillot in Le Locle, circa 1895. Made for the Russian market, made by Charles Barbezat-Baillot under the trademark Le Phare. A minute repeater with chronograph, triple date, days of the week, month of the year and moon phases. The cover and case back are polished.

White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with subsidiary seconds at 6, gilded metal Louis XV hands. A gilded brass movement, going barrel, straight line lever escapement, bimetallic compensated balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel index regulator; repeater work on the main plate, under the dial, with silent centrifugal force governor to regulate the speed of the repetition mechanism, chronograph work on the top plate. Signature on the cuvette and movement.

Movement based on the Swiss invention patent No. 334, delivered on January 8, 1889, to Charles Barbezat-Baillot, Le Locle, for Perfectionnements apportés à la construction des mécanismes de répétition pour montres de poche de toutes dimensions (Improvements to the construction of the mechanisms of repetition for pocket watches of all sizes); this patent includes, in particular, the centrifugal force regulator to regulate the speed of the repetition mechanism.
