A rare and fine Swiss gold, enamel and stones set open faced pocket watch with visible balance, circa 1790.
The case back is engine-turned with translucent cobalt blue enamelling, radial white enamel decoration, translucent blue enamel with yellow and green floral ornaments and stones, a central glass opening piece to show the balance and a stone studded bezel. Dark blue enamel regulator dial with polychrome enamel decoration depicting two lovers and a floral decor, a peripheral chapter ring with Arabic numerals, a regulator scale at 12 o’clock and cathedral hands. A fine fire gilt full plate movement, key wind, chain and fusee, solid movement pillars and a paste set five arm ring balance against a steely background, signed.
