A gold enamel pocket watch in museum like quality for the Chinese market, circa 1840. 18k gold case, the bezels on the front and back cover with applied half pearls, orally hand-engraved and polychrome enamelled band, the back cover painted with a fine composition of doves and summer owers, enamelled and pearl-set pendant, very finely engraved gold dome. Enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, centre seconds, blued spade hands. Bridge movement, steel, keywind, mirror polished, bevelled, blued, signed, going barrel, duplex escapement, brass/steel balance with 3 screws and 3 blued weights, blued balance spring.
