An exquisite Swiss 18 carat gold double dialled verge pocket watch with indication of the days, date and months, circa 1790. Full plate movement, verge escapement, chain and fusee.
The front dial is white enamel with Roman hours, outer minute divisions with quarter hour numerals, an inner track with the months of the year, the dial on the reverse is also white enamel displaying the date, days of the week and the signs of the planets belonging to the days in red. Plain case with case maker’s punch mark FFC.

Georges Achard was a master watchmaker in Geneva. Together with his brother Jean-François, he started a company for the production of enamel watches with additional options. The company existed until 1796. The brothers were suppliers for Breguet.
