An extremely fine and rare Swiss, 18 carat yellow gold keyless pocket watch with chronograph and 30 minute register, circa 1940. A polished and brushed case, buttons at 11 and 1 for the chronograph functions. Silver dial with applied yellow gold Breguet numerals, inner track for a minute and fifths of a second division, outer tachometer scale. Subsidiary dial for the seconds and 30 minute register and yellow gold spade hands. Rhodium plated movement, gold wheel train, 23 jewels, eight adjustments, lever escapement, monometallic compensation balance with gold temperature screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed.

Consigned by the family of the original owner, this pocket watch has never appeared at auction. Confirmed by the extract as being born with Breguet numerals, this is the first example to appear with Breguet numerals at auction. Having not been touched or detailed in many years, it has remained in remarkable condition and the original dial is mint, free from any restoration or defects.
