Gold open faced key winding repeater watch

A fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced quarter repeating pocket watch made by Vacheron Constantin SA in Geneva, circa 1890. It has a mechanical key winding movement with a verge escapement and an hour and quarter repeater mechanism striking on gongs, signed Vacheron Constantin. The silver dial has a central guilloché pattern, a brushed chapter ring with black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track, and sleek gold hands. The timepiece is housed in a round 18 carat solid rose gold open faced case with a smooth reverse back cover, a fluted caseband, a sturdy round suspension bow, and an inner protective cuvette. The watch comes with
an ornate winding key and its original fitted presentation box.
