Gold pocket watch with enamel portrait by Longines
–
A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch with an enamel portrait of King Farouk made for the Egyptian market, circa 1940. Retailed by L. Kramer & Co. It features a Calibre 1187M mechanical movement with a lever escapement. The two tone champagne coloured dial includes radial Arabic hour markers, an outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial, and moon hands. The 18 carat yellow gold case has a hinged back, showcasing an enamel portrait of King Farouk. The maker signs both the case and dial, and the maker and the retailer sign the movement.
