An unusual French 18K gold and enamel basket-form lady’s pendant watch, circa 1820. A basket-form case, the hinged bezel and body overlaid with translucent violet guilloche enamel, the base with a central gold paillon bird, and the hinged gold handle. Gold, engine-turned dial with Arabic numerals on circular polished reserves, outer minute track, winding aperture at 2 and blued steel lozenge hands. A matte gilt movement, fusee and chain, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, continental cock, regulation dial.
