A very fine and extremely rare French, 18K three-color gold, carillon minute repeating pocket watch with three hammers striking on two gongs, circa 1840. Varicoloured Gold Flowers by Breguet à Paris. Made for the Islamic market. A lobed case florally chased and engraved three-colour gold relief floral decoration. Hinged engine-turned gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Islamic numerals, outer minute track with Islamic quarters. Gold Breguet hands. A gilt brass movement, jewelled to the third, cylinder escapement, standing barrel, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator, repeating on two gongs with three hammers activated with a pull and- twist piston in the pendant. Dial and cuvette signed movement numbered under the dial.
