A very fine French, 18K gold, enamel and pearl-set mandolin-form watch with a concealed dial, circa 1810. Mandolin-form fermée type, master mark KR, the band decorated with green and red champlevé enamel, the back with translucent royal blue enamel and an enamelled musical score on engraved gold foliage, the front overlaid translucent red enamel and set with pearls, gold strings. White enamel dial, Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel Breguet hands. A matte gilt, full plate movement, fuse and chain verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, continental balance cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial. Movement signed.
