Gold full hunter with animated figures
–
A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat yellow gold hunting cased pocket watch with quarter repeating mechanism and automata, of Swiss quality, late 19th century. This exceptional piece features a crown wind mechanical movement with a three quarter plate, a spiral balance, a lever escapement, and an advance/delay regulating ratchet. The white enamel dial is of exceptional quality, centred with two automata representing figures in conquistador style armour, which are set in motion by the repeating mechanism. The dial further displays Roman numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track, and a subsidiary seconds dial. The round 18 carat yellow gold case is of bassine form, with hinged covers. The front cover bears two engraved initials. The gold cuvette is inscribed Genève.
