A very fine and decorative Swiss 18 Carat gold and enamel open faced duplex pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1830. The back very finely polychrome painted with a pair of doves in a nest of roses, tulips, forget me nots, pansies and marigolds against an engine turned translucent red enamelled background, the band, pendant and bow in pale green and rose champlevé enamel with gold foliage and flowers. Gold cuvette with engraved floral pattern. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic quarter hours, center seconds, blued spade hands. Gilt frosted mirror polished bridge movement, florally engraved, key winding, blued screws, going barrel, duplex escapement, three arm steel balance.
