Gold pocket chronometer

A Swiss 14 carat gold open faced key wind chronometer pocket watch made by Robert Brandt & Compagnie in La Chaux-de-Fonds, circa 1850. The engine turned case has plain bezels, pendant and bow. The white enamel dial features Roman hour numerals, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and moon hands. The bridge movement is fitted with a pivoted detent escapement, gold screw compensation balance and gilt Breguet balance spring.
