Gold splendour full hunter watch by Charles-Théodore Vaucher

A heavy Swiss hunting cased pocket watch with pivoted detent escapement, circa 1850.
This watch consists a 18 carat gold engine turned case, a silvered dial applied gold floral ornaments, Roman numerals and a subsidiary dial for the seconds at 6 o’clock. It has a bridge movement, a chain/fusee, a pink gold train, a gold screw compensation balance and a blued helical balance spring.

Charles-Théodore Vaucher in Fleurier was born in 1800. In 1856 he formed a partnership with Charles-Henri Grosclaude, who had established the company Ch. Hr. Grosclaude & Fils in 1850. Vaucher died in 1869.
